One of Takeuchi’s core values is to give back to our local communities. Takeuchi’s Social Contribution statement says: As a respectable corporate citizen, we will contribute to the local communities in which we have a presence, working in close collaboration with them. In 2022, we were blessed to be able to give back to several great charities: Tunnel to Towers, Banks-Jackson Food Bank, Carpenter’s Table Food Bank and Operation Christmas Child.

In May, Takeuchi hosted our annual Family Fun Day. Proceeds from this event benefited the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This foundation is dedicated to helping families of fallen or devastatingly injured veterans and first responders. They focus on providing housing for these families, ending veteran homelessness and aiding victims of major disasters. Through cash donations, raffle ticket sales and a “Beat the Bucket” fundraiser – where employees got to dump buckets of water on their favorite manager – we collected just over $3,000. Takeuchi then matched the funds raised, bringing the total to $6,000 to support Tunnel to Towers.

For the second year in a row, Takeuchi was able to provide much-needed meals to Banks-Jackson Food Bank. The food bank has been serving Banks and Jackson Counties since 1982, supporting an average of 772 hungry individuals and families each month. Takeuchi staff donated food items to assemble meal boxes containing all the sides for a complete, traditional Thanksgiving meal. Families also received a $25 gift card so they could purchase a turkey and fresh bread to complete their Thanksgiving dinner. In support of this cause, Takeuchi raised enough supplies to assemble 102 complete meal boxes for the Banks-Jackson Food Bank in Commerce, GA.

The 2022 addition of Takeuchi’s manufacturing plant in South Carolina provided another chance to serve in a new community. The new facility had its first annual Thanksgiving meal donation event, collecting food for the Carpenter’s Table Food Bank in Moore, SC. The Carpenter’s Table was formed in 2001 by loving members of local churches. Over the years, this outreach has grown from serving only a few dozen families to serving hundreds of families each month. The small but mighty team at the plant collected enough food to provide 42 families with traditional Thanksgiving meals.

Christmas time is another important time to share love and care for others. The Operation Christmas Child Campaign is another large opportunity for the Takeuchi family to give back. Operation Christmas Child has been delivering joy and spreading the Gospel for three decades. Takeuchi staff at Pendergrass, GA and Moore, SC donated toys, clothing and personal care items to be shipped to children around the world. These donations supplied 139 children around the world with a Christmas surprise.

Thank you to all the Takeuchi staff, friends and family who helped us support these projects. We are looking forward to growing our charitable donations in 2023. To better support this initiative, Takeuchi would like to challenge all of you to join us in our efforts to support local communities.
