“Our goal is to help our students leave high school with authentic experiences that will help them define and refine their choices about college, careers or the military,” said John Uesseler, CEO of Empower College & Career Center. “This donation from Takeuchi will help students interested in the construction field gain invaluable experience that they can take with them throughout their lives.”
Honoring Heroes
On August 29, Takeuchi joined other Jackson County, GA businesses by donating to the local Hometown Heroes Appreciation Luncheon hosted by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. This luncheon recognizes first responders and the sacrifices they make to help their communities 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Takeuchi donated a 20-quart cooler featuring the Takeuchi logo. The cooler was stuffed with many fun items, including koozies, mugs, water bottles, golf towels, a scale-model Takeuchi toy and a gift cards from local restaurants. The lucky recipient was Guy Baker, a Maysville, GA volunteer firefighter and an employee of Habitat for Humanity.
Feeding Families
For the third year in a row, Takeuchi provided much-needed meals to Banks-Jackson Food Bank. The food bank has been serving Banks and Jackson Counties since 1982, supporting an average of 772 hungry individuals and families each month. Takeuchi staff donated food items to assemble 178 meal boxes containing all the sides for a complete, traditional Thanksgiving meal. Families also received a $25 gift card so they could purchase a turkey and fresh bread to complete their Thanksgiving dinner.
